Way back in March, when I was bored on a rainy afternoon, I made a quilt top.
I used only fabrics that I had in my stash, and decided to be a bit different and make it very bright with black fabric in between the bright colours, rather than white as the pattern called for. White gets too dirty!!
I've finally had some time to finish the quilt, so yesterday and today I completed it. Decided to use yellow sashing, to make it even brighter, and red binding, well, just coz!
It is a bit bigger than cot sized, but smaller than single bed size. Not sure what I will do with it, for now it will go in a bag in the cupboard, perhaps til another friend has a baby and I need a super-cool gift to give!
Here it is:
and the back of it, super cute... just need a super cute kid to give it to!

A Christmas Owl
For part of my niece's Christmas present, I decided to make her an owl soft toy/cushion, since owls seem to be all the rave at the moment.
I didn't have a pattern, so I just winged it (ha ha, pun intended).
Here's said owl:
She loved it, as soon as she unwrapped the present, she gave the owl a big hug, I wish I had captured that with the camera!
The eyes, beak and wings are machine appliqued on, the back is a soft pink minky leopard print, with fleecy feet.
Cute huh?
